The parking lot is located on the edge of Trémazan right next to the D 127, with the North Atlantic opening up on its left side and a bay with a sandy beach on the right. My eyes are immediately captured by the dark blue sea of the North Atlantic. This is where our little walk begins and ends.

Trémazan consists of many of these typical Breton stone houses with beautifully maintained gardens – at least the part where our route passes through. It feels peaceful and sleepy. On one property, I discover from a distance a long building, clad in dark wood with a large window in which I can see some figures and vases. Handmade items. Craftsmanship. Perhaps a small studio? It would definitely fit well here. The house stands at the edge of the village and the window looks out onto wide fields covered with dense green grass that moves in the wind. Behind the fields runs the main road and beyond it stretches the Atlantic Ocean, clearly visible from here. A beautiful view.

We leave the village and walk on narrow paths between the fields parallel to the coast, which is always at a visible distance but seems so far away that it’s rurally quiet here. As we leave the fields, we come to a short stretch of paved road. Here the path runs along the edge of another village with large properties and equally large houses on them. Then it’s back across fields and into Saint-Samson, which consists of a few old stone houses and the small chapel on the coast. And so we continue hiking over fields and narrow, paved roads until we reach the coast again. There we turn onto the GR34 and follow it along the coast back to the parking lot.

At the Dragon of Landunvez – Le dragon de Landunvez, an impressive rock formation right by the sea, we take a break. We sit on the rocks, sheltered from the strong wind, and enjoy the view of the coast and the open sea, where the water now glitters from the rising sun. I am very tired and can barely enjoy the scenery. To drive the fatigue from my body, I decide to explore the rock formation. I climb into the large, partly pointed rocks, clamber around and pause at spots where I have a good view of this natural wonder. I feel small and insignificant, and that in a positive way. Being in here, where every wrong step could be life-threatening, awakens me again. The fatigue disappears and I feel very alive. This is the highlight of this excursion for me. Once again, we have spent a beautiful time outdoors in nature.
